Along The Ridge is ready for your family!
With trails around the property, a kids rock-climbing wall in the basement, firepit area, board games, card games, movies and more, your group will have something to do rain or shine.
The property is secluded, yet less than 10 minutes from some of the most popular attractions in the Red River Gorge, including the Natural Bridge, Red River Gorge Zipline, The Gorge Underground, Kentucky Reptile Zoo, Putt-Putt Golf, Mill Creek Lake, Nada Tunnel, La Cabana Mexican Restaurant, Miguel’s Pizza and Thatcher Barbecue Co. just to name a few!
There are plenty of ways to enjoy your time Along The Ridge.
Your group should spend at least half a day touring the property. There are multiple trails that provide an experience like few others in the Gorge – you’ll see what I mean when you get along the ridge… caves, huge boulders, and an arch that’s probably not part of the more than a 100 sandstone arches identified in the Red River Gorge!
When you’re not outside exploring and climbing, there’s plenty of fun to be had inside the cabin.
Let’s start at the basement level…
Inside the basement is where the rock-climbing wall is located. Your little ones can climb, hang, play board games, watch TV, all kinds of things that will wear them down in the convenience of the cabin. This area also has a bunk bed that’s big enough to sleep at least 3 kids, a restroom and laundry machines.
Upstairs you’ll find one bedroom with a full-size bed and access to the porch from the bedroom. There is also a full bathroom with a walk-in shower and huge bathtub to relax in!
The living/dining space is an open layout concept that features a one-of-a-kind spiral staircase that leads to two bedrooms and full bathroom.
There is a smart TV in the living room and another walk-out door to the patio where you’ll find additional seating and area to eat. Speaking of eating, the dining room table can accommodate up to 8 people and the kitchen is stocked to meet your cooking needs!
Satellite Internet and TV are available. With that said, you will be able to make phone calls, send/receive text messages, check emails and social media, but do NOT expect to stream video from the property very well. It is possible to stream from one TV or device at a time, but even that is not very reliable as you’re in a very remote location – take advantage of that and get unplugged for a little bit!
While the cabin was built in 2002, Along The Ridge was established in 2022 – twenty years and two owners later.
Since purchasing the property, we have added a new look (exterior stain) to the cabin, created more than 5 private trails around an acre of property, added a firepit area, built a KIDS rock-climbing wall, added all new appliances to the kitchen and we have plenty more plans in the works… all with the intention of helping you and your family create amazing memories!

Posted on MorganNovember 20, 2022Verified We enjoyed our stay and hope to come again!Posted on PamNovember 13, 2022Verified Second time weve stayed here. The kitchen has everything you might need. Its a perfect getaway. The quiet. The rain on the tin roof. The rock cliffs behind the house. Plenty of room in this 3-story cabin for everyone to find their peace.Posted on HeatherOctober 31, 2022Verified The location is very beautiful, backed up against the cliffs & caves. However, you can still hear the traffic from the highway, as its not very far off the main area. Everything was beautiful about this cabin, only a few things that could be improved: the floors are extremely creeky which wont really matter unless youre a group of more than 6 and have some sleeping in the basement, like we were. Also, my Dad who is 81 had a hard time getting up & down the stairs to the main door, as they are very narrow and not always spaced out the same. Other than these few things, a very pleasant stay with beautiful surroundings!Posted on RigoSeptember 18, 2022Verified Great Airbnb and perfect location!Posted on ErinAugust 28, 2022Verified I definitely recommend 4wd to get up the drive, but it's totally worth it! We had a fantastic stay!Posted on KristinAugust 21, 2022Verified Location, location, location. If youre looking for a cool spot that is secluded yet close to everything Red River Gorge has to offer, this place is for you. It was easy to find and within minutes of great food, hiking, climbing, kayaking, etc. Communication with the owner was easy and the cabin was tidy and well stocked. The wifi was fine for our 5 cell phones to run on, we didnt attempt to watch TV. We will definitely be back!Posted on CoreyAugust 5, 2022Verified Absolutely AMAZING!!! The check in process is very simple, the cabin is minutes from convenience stores and any of the big tourist attractions. it's clean and very secluded so you get your privacy. My kids were extremely disappointed when we left because theythought we had moved in we would 100% come back for another stay!!!Posted on AngelinaJuly 27, 2022Verified Well maintained cabin in and quiet spot in the woods. It feels very secluded, but is only minutes away from many things to do in RRG. WiFi was spotty, but thats expected, the hot tub was in working order but could use an upgrade. There was plenty of room for kids to do activities by themselves in the basement level, and adults could have some kid free time without worry. The fire pit was really nice too! We enjoyed a fire and some smores and there was enough room to sit around it for our group of 7.Posted on LynnJuly 15, 2022Verified We had an amazing time on our trip to the gorge! The cabin was beautiful, clean and close to everything but still private. Check-in is at the bottom of the hill less than 5 minutes from the cabin. Everyone was so nice and accommodating that it made the check-in/out process easy!Posted on NicoleJune 17, 2022Verified Some minor comforts need addressed, but we had a wonderful stayAirbnb rating score: 4.7 of 5, based on 58 reviews
